The St Bride's Bay coast has one of the highest densities of self-catering accommodation anywhere in Wales, and very little of it is purpose-built. Converted cottages, extended bungalows, annexes and barns, nearly all let commercially.
Covering Broad Haven, Little Haven, Nolton Haven, Druidston, Newgale, Roch and Solva. We are around 25 minutes away and there is no travel charge anywhere in Pembrokeshire.
Two things define the work here. The first is that almost every property is a conversion, so the escape route is whatever the original layout left behind, and loft conversions have quietly added a sleeping floor above it in a great many of them. The second is distance. Response times along this coast are longer than in the towns, which shifts weight onto detection and onto guests being able to get out without help.
Since 1 October 2023 every responsible person in Wales must record the assessment in full, whatever the headcount. The old five‑employee exemption is gone.
It is the single most common finding along this coast. A loft conversion adds a storey to the escape route, which usually means the staircase needs protecting and the detection needs upgrading. It is rarely expensive to put right, but it does need doing properly.
About thirty minutes, and there is no travel charge. If you have several properties along the bay we will do them in one run.
Yes. Any premises used for a business is in scope, and stores full of wetsuits, boards and resin have their own fire loading worth looking at.
